Panda Points

Beat a regular 3 times and they ask to become your student. While you're in the park, your students play other people and pay you 40% of every game they win. Coaching makes them stronger, so they win more as time goes on.

Welcome to Ashton Square Park

Walk around, sit down at a table, and play Contra Chess for Panda Points.

• 1Walk with the arrow keys or W A S D (or the pad). Face a player and press Space or A to talk.
• 2Every table has a stake. Win and you take it from your opponent. Lose and you pay it.
• 3When you are winning, say Contra. The stake doubles, like doubling in backgammon.
• 4Your opponent either accepts or declines and pays you the stake from before the double. Accepting gets them the cube and draw odds: from then on, a draw counts as their win.
• 5Only the player holding the cube controls the Recontra, the next double. If they say it and you accept, the cube and the draw odds pass to you. While the cube is in the middle, either player can say Contra, and they can say it to you, too.
• 6The Puzzler by the fountain has a new mate-in-one every park day. You get one try. Solve it for Panda Points, and solve on back-to-back days for a bigger reward.
• 7On some days Hopper Hal wanders in from 9 AM to 6 PM with knight tour challenges, with pawns or without. Find him and bet Panda Points that you can beat his clock.
